With the release of her debut CD, "Owning Up," singer-songwriter Aimee Van Dyne has demonstrated herself to be a gifted composer and arranger, unleashing songs of haunting beauty and vulnerability, with a depth and musical complexity rare in an artist today. Recorded by Tony Maimone (They Might be Giants, Pere Ubu) and featuring pedal-steel guitar great Jon Graboff, the songs range in character from the guitar-driven rage of 'Not Even You' to the confessional yearning of 'Owning Up," and are given shape by Aimee's soulful voice, strong melodies, and the four-part harmonies that have become her trademark.

A native New Yorker, Aimee's career as a musician began at an early age, as a classically trained pianist, performing in competitions throughout the New York area. Although she started playing guitar by age eleven, it wasn't until her college years at Brown University that Aimee began writing songs, performing in local coffeehouses and clubs. Upon returning to New York, she soon joined forces with vocalists Kathleen Hunt and Nina Schmir, who have put their inimitable stamp upon Aimee's unique vocal arrangements. Together, the three create a powerful presence on stage, captivating audiences with the complexity and clarity of their vocals.

A regular at clubs such as CBGB's 313 Gallery, Arlene Grocery, and The C-Note, Aimee will begin her first US tour this spring. For now, Aimee, Kathleen, Nina, and a newly formed band can currently be seen performing throughout the Northeast.

"...thoughtful pop, with gorgeous, seamless harmonies."
