This project involved the renovation of an existing residential duplex in Chelsea. The project goals were to:

• incorporate a portion of the building's mechanical space into the residential unit, providing two closets plus a washer/dryer closet.
• create an opening in the existing exterior wall for a new window.
• convert an existing 10x12 laundry room into a third bedroom with a new window and built-in closet.
• relocate a stair to a more space-efficient location, allocating the space for a new pantry.
• provide bookshelves and storage under the new stairs, thereby utilizing otherwise "dead" space.
• provide a complete kitchen renovation, creating a new island of double-sided storage.
• provide a high-end "cook's kitchen" with top-line appliances (Sub-zero refrigerator, Wolf oven, Miele dishwasher) and built-in features, such as customized plate storage and built-in garbage and recycling center.
• provide a new floor throughout and a new fireplace hearth.
• provide custom cabinets for an existing office.
• design a new, more space-efficient bathroom (see bathrooms).
